Microphyt was created in 2007 near Montpellier – South of France to industrialize the production of biomass of species of microalgae of economic interest.

For this aim, an innovating and generic concept of photobioreactor was assessed and validated, with results matching the expectations. This concept makes it possible to secure the supply of species that are difficult to cultivate because fragile and/or slow growing.

On the basis of this concept, Microphyt develops new technologies of production of microalgae adapted to various needs and locations, with the production at low cost for the large world mass markets as objective.
